Run in the Park a great success!
13/07/2010
Our annual summer event, Run in the Park, was again a great success with over 500 people taking part in the 10k and 3k runs.
People of all ages turned out in force to support Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity on a sunny day in Graves Park.
There was a great atmosphere in the park as runners proudly displayed their inspiration for taking part on their running vests, varying from the memory of a lost loved one, to gratitude to the hospital for the successful treatment of an illness.
All of the runners did themselves, and the charity, proud by completing the challenging and undulating course.
The 10k was won by Matthew Hobbs (Hallamshire Harriers Running Club), with Kevin Mahon (Totley Athletic Club) in second place and Stuart Croydon (Steel City Striders) in third.
We would like to say a big thank you and congratulations to everyone who took part in both races – your support is vital to the work of the charity and all of the money raised will benefit Weston Park Hospital and its patients.
