This challenging 4.5km walk at sunset through Ecclesall Woods, starting from the Woodland Discovery Centre on Abbey Lane.

Getting there:

Buses 97 and 98 alternately every 10 minutes to junction of Abbeydale Road South and Abbey Lane. The Woodland Discovery Centre is 500 yards along Abbey Lane. There is a reduced service back to town after 10pm. There is no car parking at the Woodland Discovery Centre, but in laybys on Abbey Lane, along Whirlowdale Road and on other nearby roads.

Additional 'Point of Interest' information

It is a hilly route with some moderate ascent. Wrap up warm and wear sensible footwear. Marshalls will be placed at strategic points along the route and at intervals amongst the participants.
 
There are no road crossings to worry about. Entertainment, food and hot drinks will be available at the start and finish. There will also be entertainment and surprises en route. Gates open at 6.00pm and the walk starts at 6.30pm.
