Fundraising Standards Board

We rely on the support of our many wonderful volunteers for a number of areas - whether it be working in our charity shops, helping us place and pick up collection tins or lending a hand at our events.

**Please note that we do not provide volunteers to work in the hospital itself or manage work placements - this is done through Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust**

We have a fantastic team of volunteers, but we could always benefit from more! We have several areas where we rely on volunteers to help us make a real difference. These are:
  • EventsVolunteers

From charity balls and golf days to mass participation sponsored runs and night walks, we have a very busy programme of events.

We organise our own events, and many of our supporters organise their own events in support of the charity. As a result we depend on our Event Volunteers to help these events run smoothly.
If you could help on an ad-hoc basis, please get in touch - the roles vary by event, but often include helping with registration/entry, marshalling, handing out water, helping to setup, handing out goody bags or assisting at bucket/street collections, eg at Sheffield United or Sheffield Wednesday home games. Apply now.
  • Event Promotion

To help promote our events as effectively as possible, we currently have an urgent to need for Event Promtion volunteers. Generally speaking, the more promotion we get for our events means that more people take part and ultimately more vital funds are raised for our fight against cancer. Bucket collection volunteers
This is an ad-hoc role determined by our events programme - your role would include taking posters and leaflets to shops and businesses and asking them to be displayed or handed out.
It would also include identifying further promotion opportunities, such as banner sites, poster sites etc and assisting with the placement and removal of marketing material. Apply now.
  • Collection tins / driving

The placement and retrieval of our army of collection tins around the region is of paramount importance to the charity, as it is not only a reliable and valuable source of income, but also a great brand awareness tool.

If you could spare a morning or an afternoon each week, we would love to hear from you - your role would be to drive our fantastic charity car around pre-set routes collecting full tins and replacing them with new ones. Apply now. Our wonderful volunteers
